Club Honored with Prestigious Award

The Detroit Athletic Club has been honored with one of the most prestigious awards in the state, the Michigan Quality Council's 2008 Michigan Quality Leadership Award. The award, which is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, will be presented for the first time to a hospitality organization in the state of Michigan.

This great distinction comes after years of hard work and planning by the DAC Management team and staff, as well as the support ot the DAC Board of Directors. The Club applied for the award earlier this year and was selected for an extensive site visit performed by numerous examiners verifying the club's practices in seven catagories of performance: leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; measurement, analysis and knowledge management; staff focus; process management; and organizational results.

During down times in Detroit's economy, the DAC's traditions and dedication to excellence have continued to shine brightly. Through its 10 core values, the Club is able to honor tradition, excellence and the leadership legacy that the Club was founded on over a century ago.
