Founded in 1918, the Beavers is the DAC's oldest Club-Within-the-Club. The group meets every Thursday at lunchtime from October through March.

The club is composed of two groups. The Swimming Beavers gather in the pool for very spirited and competitive games of water "basketbrawl" and races. Meanwhile, the slightly more sedate Land Beavers gather in the Assembly Room for cocktails. Both groups come together for a luncheon buffet followed by a presentation by a prominent speaker from the local business, sports or political scene. Annual dues are charged to members. Guests are welcome for the luncheons.
