Motor City Mighty: Athletics, Automobiles and the DAC Story
Originally founded in 1887, the Detroit Athletic Club was a center for amateur athletics in Detroit and the nation. As Detroit became known as the Motor City, members of the DAC built
a beautiful new Clubhouse and became the center of automobile leadership. Today the Club remains the fulcrum through which so much of what we consider the fabric of Detroit was founded and developed.
This unique 12-minute documentary film uses historic photos, film clips, original music of the era and more to take us inside Detroit's "Motor City Mighty." Created to honor the 95th anniversary
of the Club's Madison Avenue Clubhouse, the film was produced with the support of the DAC Enrichment Fund.
