Club Text Messaging Policy

Many DAC Members, family members of Members, guests, and employees heavily rely on text messages sent to and received on their mobile phones. The Club uses optional Club-generated text messages to communicate about Club events and Clubhouse access. As a part of being a Member, you have provided us with your name and address and in most cases an email address and one or more telephone numbers.

In order to receive Club-generated text messages, a Member must opt-in. In order to opt in, please send the text message "START" with your member number from your mobile phone to the Club at 313-312-8223. If we do not already have that mobile phone number, we will collect that information, associate it with your name, and store and use it to send Club-related text messages to you. Please let us know if your mobile phone number changes.

By opting in, the Member agrees to receive automated and other text messages from the Club and authorizes the Club to collect, store, and analyze related engagement data. Messaging and data rates and charges may apply consistent with the Member's own cellular, mobile, or wireless phone plan. By opting in, Member waives any claim against the Club for such charges or otherwise arising out of or related to Club-generated text messages to Members.

At all times you have the option and right to opt out of receiving text messages from the Club. In order to opt out, please send the text message "STOP" with your member number to 313-312-8223 or otherwise communicate to the Club you no longer wish to receive text messages from the Club. The opt-out process may take several days to complete; we apologize for any messages sent to you in the interim.

We value your privacy and your time. We will not sell your mobile or opt-in information. We will not share your mobile information or opt-in information except with platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors as necessary to assist us in providing this service. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. The Club reserves its right to disclose any information necessary to satisfy any law, regulation or governmental request, to avoid liability, to protect the Club's rights and property, and to protect the rights and property of Club Members, their family members, guests, and employees.

This Policy only addresses Club-generated text messages and Member responses. Member-to-Member text messages are addressed in the Club's House Rules. Nothing in this Policy is intended to address text messages initiated by a Member, a Member's family members, or Club guests or employees.
